Tips for a Successful School Year

Have a consistent bedtime and get plenty of sleep every night.

Eat a healthy breakfast as it’s the MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day.

Pack a healthy lunch or make healthy choices when selecting your school lunch. Limit  junk foods.

Try to limit the number of days you are absent from school so you are not missing  important information.

Have a regular homework time and place. This should be a place free from distractions so you can concentrate on your homework. When you have completed your homework, ORGANIZE IT and put it back in your backpack so you don’t lose it or forget it.

Stay active and don’t become a couch potato. Limit the time in front of the TV or playing video games. Instead, try to get outside to get some exercise—go for a walk or ride your bike.

When you are having a hard time understanding a concept, ask for help. Your school may have tutors available to assist you as needed.

Do your BEST and have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE

We hope everyone has a productive and fun school year!!

Orthodontics Is A Great Investment!

Beautiful Smiles Make A Lasting Impression

An attractive smile is a wonderful asset. It contributes to self-esteem, self-confidence and healthy teeth and gums so you can maintain your smile for the rest of your life. One of the most common questions we hear from our new patients is “how much do braces cost?”  The cost of orthodontic treatment depends upon many factors, including the severity of the problem, its complexity, and time necessary to treat the problem. The length of orthodontic treatment, on an average, is approximately 24 months. We see our patients on an average of every 5-6 weeks during this time. Once active treatment is completed, then the retainer phase is initiated. This phase usually lasts 1-2 years. During this time, we will see our patients every 3-6 months. So, overall Dr. Nett will work with each of our patients on an average of 3-4 years.  What other fields of medicine gives you the same value for your dollar!!!  Orthodontic treatment is a life-long value.

Studies show that children with nice looking smiles are more popular with their peers and their teachers. These children achieve better grades and are more successful throughout their educational careers. Experts say that this increased success is due to the increased self-confidence and people skills compared to those children with less attractive smiles and less self-confidence. These positive changes carry over into their adult lives and careers.

A recent study shows that adults with attractive smiles were twice as likely to be hired for the same positions as other adults with less attractive smiles. This study took place in an interview setting. Two groups of adults with similar qualifications were interviewed for a job position. The group with attractive smiles had twice as many people invited back for second interviews.

Achieving the perfect smile takes relatively little time or effort and will last a lifetime. Our office will be happy to assist you with payment plans to fit your individual needs.  Add it all up— a winning smile, greater self-esteem and a lifetime of good oral health.

Orthodontics is one investment which really pays off!!

December 2011 Share-A-Smile Winner

Congratulations Nicole & Our Runner Up Winners!

Nicole Santoro was the winner of the “Share A Smile” referral program! Each time any one of our patients refer someone to our office for an orthodontic evaluation by Dr. Nett, their name goes into a drawing. On December 15th, we had a random drawing and Nicole was our lucky winner. In appreciation for the referrals, Nicole got a $250 gift card to any restaurant or store of HER choice!  Nicole choose to get a gift card to Costco where she plans to possibly purchase a computer or one of their notebooks.  Congratulations Nicole and thanks again for referring your friends to us for their orthodontic needs. We appreciate the compliment very much!

In addition to Nicole Santoro being the 1st Place winner, we also had three Runner Up winners!! Hannah Gohlke, Phoebe Berka and Jesse De Clair each received a Harkin’s movie cup, along with Harkin movie passes and candy to enjoy while at their movie. Our next drawing will be on June 14, 2012. If you know someone who is interested in “remodeling” their smile, have them call our office to schedule a NO CHARGE orthodontic evaluation. If they tell us that you referred them, you too will be entered in our next drawing for a chance to win an awesome prize! You can refer more than one patient which will increase your chance of being our next lucky winner. In addition to creating beautiful smiles, we want to make your experience in our office memorable and have fun along the way too!

A HUGE “thank you” to all of you who have referred someone to our office,  as that is the greatest compliment we can receive!!
